Shan M. Greer is a Caribbean arbitrator, mediator and lawyer associated with the law firm Floissac, Fleming & Associates in Saint Lucia. Her practice carries a strong emphasis on major building and infrastructure projects. She offers excellent insight, particularly with respect to the procurement and execution stages of major projects. Although based in St Lucia, Shan represents clients throughout the Caribbean as well as internationally in North America and Europe.
With more than eighteen years experience as a commercial litigator, Shan provides clients with effective representation from pre-suit negotiations to the appellate process. Her experience includes cases involving construction, banking, insurance, intellectual property, energy, and employment. In addition to her litigation experience, Shan has an extensive non-contentious background having worked as a legal advisor in the negotiation and preparation of contractual documents for several large corporate projects relating to the provision of infrastructure, renewable energy and commercial property developments.
Shan is a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and possesses a Masters degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College London. Over the past ten years, she has been regularly appointed as an arbitrator in ad hoc international and domestic arbitrations governed by the laws of civil and common law jurisdictions under various arbitration rules including the ICC and UNCITRAL Rules.
Shan is passionate about education and training, particularly in the area of alternative dispute resolution. She is an approved tutor and course director with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as well as the Chair of its Caribbean Branch.
